Indian River Equipment Company was founded in October 2002 by Steve McSweeney President of Tri-State Utilities and Peter Kurz Sales Manager for Tri-State Utilities. Steve and Pete recognized the need to establish a new quality distributor of well known sewer maintenance products for the state of Virginia. This new endeavor was to be extremely successful over the next few years.
In June of 2006 Scot Darnell bought the majority shareholder interest in Indian River Equipment Company and became its new President. Scot was previously employed by the Caterpillar Heavy Equipment dealer in the state of Virginia.

Indian River Equipment Company has become a leader in the state of Virginia for the sale of pipeline inspection equipment.

Indian River Equipment represents such manufacturers as: R.S. Technical Services Products, Harben High Pressure Water Technology Jetters, Shamrock Tools, Coverleaf Products, Pirhanna Hose, Plug-It Products, Rhino, and many others.
